I am proud to endorse Kim Healy for District 42 State Representative. Kim is exactly the kind of leader we need representing our district in Hartford. Her background, experience, and dedication to our community make her a natural choice for state representative. As chair of the Wilton Board of Finance, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Kim and witnessing firsthand her tireless commitment to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly. She brings a thoughtful, disciplined approach to every decision she makes, and her financial expertise, combined with a passion for public service, will serve our district well.

Kim’s fiscal acumen has been on full display in her role on the Wilton Board of Selectmen. Her background as a CPA and former auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers enables her to expertly navigate complex budgets, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively. Kim understands that today’s financial decisions impact the future, and she consistently works to protect the long term financial health of our community. She has proven her ability to tackle difficult issues head-on with integrity and an unwavering commitment to the people she serves.

Kim is equally passionate about education, as demonstrated by her leadership on the Reading Leadership Implementation

Council. Appointed in 2022, Kim has been instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of the CT Right to Read Law. She has boldly challenged the Department of Education’s one-size-fits-all approach, advocating instead for locally driven strategies that respect the unique needs of each district. Kim knows that strong literacy and math skills are critical to student success and is committed to strengthening these foundational competencies in our schools. She also champions the importance of local control, making sure that parents and boards of education have a strong voice in shaping educational policy. As a candidate for State Representative, Kim’s priorities demonstrate her deep understanding of the issues that matter most to our community. She is a staunch advocate for early education programs, community safety and women’s reproductive rights. Kim supports first responders and pushes for stronger laws to keep our neighborhoods safe. I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Kim Healy as State Representative. Over the years, Kim has volunteered for many local organizations including the Wilton Library and Minks to Sinks. Kim has been on the Wilton Board of Selectmen since 2021 and serves on several other town committees.

As a member of the Board of Finance, I have had the opportunity to work with Kim on the issues of the town and I have found her to always try to do what is best for the community. She listens to everyone and works to keep the conversations civil. Kim has used her extensive financial experience to make sure Wilton has great services and keeps spending at a reasonable level.

As our state representative, Kim will work to ensure that Wilton can make its own choices regarding education and housing rather than a one-size-fits-all answer from the state legislature. Kim will work to restrain state spending and reduce state taxes. Kim is my choice for state representative.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was someone who was level-headed, compassionate, and intelligent, with a demonstrated passion for Wilton, who wanted to be our representative in Hartford (for our 42nd house district)? How about having someone knowledgeable about our town government (as a current member of the Board of Selectmen) who could use this experience to better support Wilton at the state level? Wouldn’t it be great to have somebody more at ease identifying herself as a Wiltonian rather than as a member of a political party, someone who has garnered the endorsement of the Independent Party, serving as our representative?

The great news is that Kim Healy is all of these things. She’s also a mother of four, dedicated to improving both the environment (she served on the Conservation Commission) and our quality of life, and a staunch advocate for improving educational outcomes in both towns like Wilton as well as those with lower achievement levels today. Kim would be a great champion for our town, pushing to keep and expand local decision-making, knowing that local autonomy helped create the Wilton we have today, the place all of us have chosen to call home. I am writing in support of Kim Healy for state representative for the 42nd District. Kim is a highly intelligent and capable woman who is truly dedicated to her community. This is evident given her extensive volunteer background. She has remained dedicated to representing our interests while serving on the Board of Selectmen and there is no one I trust more to represent our voice as a community in Hartford. She understands the importance of public participation in and public awareness of the political process.

Further, Kim advocates for forward-thinking zoning reform, which we so desperately need. Hartford has pursued unrealistic and idealized housing bills for too long and we are suffering as a result. We are in desperate need of a solution to the affordable housing problem that does not sacrifice our town’s autonomy with respect to planning and zoning. I trust that Kim will bring a collaborative spirit to Hartford and approach zoning reform in a practical way.

Kim Healy has demonstrated her ability to listen, learn and lead
in her role as a Wilton Selectwoman. In that role, she has
always promoted effective policies with civility, not political
divisiveness. In that role, she has gained the local experience to
effectively represent Wilton’s local concerns in Hartford. As

1. Kim supports legislation that retains local decision-making
for our schools.
2. Kim will take an approach to meaningful zoning reform
that respects the importance of local decision-making.

bigger issues Kim will support and defend CT women’s
reproductive freedom and push to eliminate CT income tax on

I am writing to support Kim Healy for State Representative for
the 42nd District. Kim has demonstrated her collaborative and
bipartisan approach to government during her time on
the Wilton Board of Selectmen. Kim has worked to ensure
responsible municipal spending while still meeting the needs of
the town and residents of Wilton.

Outside of the Board of Selectmen Kim has also been on
the Reading Leadership Implementation Council since 2022.
On this council Kim has been vocal in her opposition to the State
Department of Education’s one size fits all approach to the
implementation of this law. Kim wants to ensure that parents
and boards of education have a strong voice in state policy
decisions.
In Hartford, Kim will be a voice for appropriate government
spending and maintain the current fiscal guardrails as well as be
an advocate for small business. Kim will also advocate to
eliminate state income tax on social security payments which
will help our senior citizens manage the cost increases we’ve
seen over the last several years of high inflation.

Kim will push for a forward-thinking approach to zoning reform
at the state level recognizing the importance of local decision
making.

I feel privileged to share my support of Kim Healy for our State Representative. As a recent transplant from California, where politics has become unbearable with way too much control of what goes on at the local level from the State. In Connecticut, local communities seem to have more influence on important issues and Kim’s dedication to Wilton is inspiring. 

Her personal background is inspiring; growing up in a family of police officers and healthcare workers, she understands the day-to-day challenges of fixed income living and dealing with our healthcare complexities. As a mother of four, with two in college, she lives with the financial impact of rising education costs. 

Kim’s professional background as a CPA, along with her leadership in local non-profits and involvement with the CT Reading Leadership Council, shows her commitment to ensuring responsible use of local resources and having a positive impact on our schools. She has served on the Board of Selectmen since 2021. She came close to winning the state representative election in 2022, gaining great experience for navigating her 2024 run. 

What’s refreshing to me is her motivation is not driven by any political party but by what is best for our citizens. Kim’s experience, integrity and enthusiasm makes her the perfect choice for state representative.

Stroll along any of our quaint downtown streets — past the historic bookstore, the curated boutique, and the beckoning aroma of the donut shop — and you’ll see it. The empty storefront. A portrait of opportunity gone by, framed by its large cloudy window and littered with peeling paint. What happened? Where did it go? And why has nothing taken its place?

As a business owner, I know firsthand the countless challenges our local businesses endure. Skyrocketing utility rates, excessive taxes, and inefficient regulations place a burden not only on proprietors and their families, but on employees, customers, and our community. Businesses strangled by overhead costs struggle to pay staff a competitive wage and provide compelling service to customers. Businesses lost to restrictive pandemic policies are simply gone forever.

Still, I am optimistic. Small businesses are uniquely poised to flourish in an environment that champions innovation, responsible spending, and the exaltation of the American Dream. Kim Healy and Kami Evans have demonstrated a deep commitment to our small businesses and the communities they serve. They are staunch advocates for the fiscal conservatism and tax relief necessary to revitalize our economy.

Common sense policies and workable solutions will get us there. Kim and Kami will lead the way.
